Optical Assignment

Welcome to the Optical Page. Here, you will see a video that I edited using Green Screen footage and Adobe After Effects. For this Assignment, I had to record myself in front of a Green Screen performing an action of my choice.

I was first shown examples of Optical videos that previous students had done before. I personaly thought they were all really impressive, mostly because they were all filmed at home during the Pandemic. I had so many ideas I wanted to do for my own video, but I could only chose ONE. After some brainstorming and thinking, I decided to have myself be in one location and Disintegrate into another location. Here's the storyboard I made for my Optical Video (Made on StoryboardThat.Com):

Once I had my Storyboard planned out, I then had to film myself in front of the green screen performing my action I was going to do in the video. Filming the green screen video took quite a few takes because we all had to make sure the lighting was suitable for our footage (We all recorded our footage at the same time).

According to my storyboards, I wanted my video to began with me in an Underwater world, but in the video, I used a background image from Spongebob Squarepants because I love to use my favorite shows in any videos I make. When you see me in this underwater world, I will look around and then say "This isn't where I am supposed to be". Once I have spoken, I click my fingers and then I will Disintegrate and disappear off the screen.

Once I Disintegrate off screen, the background will change from Spongebob to a Super Mario background. What happens next is I will attach on screen in the Super Mario World and I will say "That's Better" and then the video will end. Once I had the video complete, I decided to add some sound effects to make it more better. I used about three Sound effects which were:

• Bubbles Sound Effect
• Warp Sound Effect
• Super Mario Coin Sound Effect

Once I added the sound effects and was happy with how it turned out. I opened up Adobe Media Encoder and rendered the video. Down below will be the final video.
