Project Title:

THE OPAT Service (Your Path Home)

Project Created By:

Creative Digital Media Level 6 Class

Role: Animation

On this project page, You will see the whole process that went into the making of the Animated video for the HSE covering the topic of the OPAT Service. This project was a team project, so me and the whole class of Creative Digital Media had a part ot play in this project. First, our tutors talked to us all about the overall project and what we had to do for it. Once we're were given a discussion on OPAT, we got the idea that project had to be Animated with Interviews from Doctors that would be filmed during the process. First, we each had to create designs for the characters we would use for Animates. I volunteered to create Designs for the Doctors and Nurses. Using both Sketches and Adobe Animate, I was able to create the doctors and nurses the way I wanted to. Other assets that were made included a Delivery Van, Backgrounds, Patients, checklist, etc....

Once we had each made a different asset in Adobe Animate, We went back to class to see what we had each made and all helped each other make improvements for those who were struggling. It wasn't just assest we made, we also wanted to include pictures in our video, but we had to make them into vectors because they thought they would stand out more clearly. Here's an example of a vector we made:

In the process of our project,a BIG asset we needed to work on was a script for the Audio Narration. Using powerpoint for key notes, we put a together a script with each student editing a section each. After the first draft was shown, we came to a conclusion that it was too long, so we then had to edit the script to make it shorter than the first time.

Once we had our script edited and simple to read. We then had to do some test recordings of us reading the script. We all had our own different speeds for reading the script, but in the end, we decided to use Matthew's draft recording till we got our offical audio from the HSE.

We even worked on our Animation Project during Work Experience because we couldn't go out and find work due to COVID restrictions. We all also had to remember to save our Animate files properly so we would be able to convert the assets intto symbols to use in our video. As weeks went on, we kept showing our tutors and memebers of the HSE the work we had to done to see if they were okay and if any changes needed to be made.

Here is the first Draft that I (Liam) made:

After the draft, Liam went back to make adjustments to his video such as changing assets, using less text and including credits. Here is the finished video
